NUREMBERG Production Unit Komponente

New Tool for Reporting and Documentation of Ergonomic Assessments (LMM) at the Nuremberg Plant

Advantages of the new tool

Reduced administrative effort: Digital recording eliminates the tedious filling out of paper documents (in part) and manual data entry.

Automatic reporting down to segment level: Our reporting system provides detailed insights down to the level of individual segments.

Transparency: Digital recording and automatic reporting provide us with unprecedented transparency regarding the ergonomics situation in our working environment. We can see where we stand and where there is a need for action.

Central documentation: All data and documentation is stored centrally, which will make it much easier to search for information and follow up on measures.

Cooperation project Scania & MAN

Goal: ergonomic evaluation of some components of the common based engine using the Scania method (SES - Scania Ergonomic Standard) and the LMM/KIM (key indicator method)

Approach: Support, training and evaluations by and with ergonomist from Södertälje

Results: SES more differentiated and specific assessment for assembly (measured and limit values), assessment already at component level in the construction and planning phase

Next step: Coordination with construction regarding the introduction of SES Design

New Construction of Production Hall M17 for CBE1 engine

Occupational safety plays a central role in the major project »New construction of production
hall M17 for CBE engine«. Our experts are involved from conception to handover of operations and have the following key aspects:

1. safety concepts from the very beginning: We work closely with the project teams to integrate safety aspects into the planning and identify potential hazards at an early stage.

2. testing and monitoring: during the project phase, we continuously monitor compliance with our safety standards, including inspections and safety audits.

3. training for planners: we offer training on the legally compliant procurement of machinery and equipment.

Reliability in cooperation forms the basis for adherence to and consistent further development of methods and tools.

At MAN Nuremberg, we are in the midst of change on the way to the future of our MAN. However, these changes also bring with them new challenges in occupational health and safety.

This begins with safety on large construction sites and extends to machine safety, from planning to commissioning, as well as issues such as high voltage, new hazardous substances, the use of driverless transport systems and fire protection.

We face this challenge together with the plant management, managers and all employees at the Nuremberg site.

In this way, we are continuously creating and developing an environment in which risks and deficiencies can be identified early and transparently and appropriate measures can be derived.

This brings us one step closer to our vision of zero accidents.
